Terms & Conditions

Scope of Application

This page defines the way we conduct our business and outlines our code of practice regarding producing and editing video work.  It also defines the limits of our responsibility regarding content and copyright.

The term 'us' is taken to mean SFX Editing and their legal agents and representatives.  The term 'you' is taken to mean you the customer, your legal agents and representatives.

Privacy policy

We do not use cookies on our website but any external links and third party downloads may be subject to different cookie policies and regulations.  We have no control over third party content and can not be held responsible for their cookie use.

Limitation of liability

If you require us to make content for publication, we will only use licenced material, or material that we have created ourselves. Licences apply to stock footage, certain sound effects and music tracks. Copyright laws are quite complicated and, depending on use, we may be required to register where licenced material is being published. It is best to let us know if you intend to publish your work on any of the major platforms to prevent a copyright strike from removing your work.

Generally speaking, you will own the copyright to any material that we produce for you (excluding licenced third party material) once it has been paid for. Special terms and conditions apply to work that has been produced in a collaborative agreement.

When we edit material supplied by yourself, it is your responsibility to ensure that any required copyright licences are in place, especially if you intend to publish, and you undertake to indemnify us against any claim or legal costs arising from such failure.

Material of an adult nature will require certain legal proofs before any work can be undertaken. This will include (but will not necessarily be limited to) photo I.D. for proof of age and signed consent forms for any participants.

Customer support

We aim to supply first class customer support but we are only human and errors and mistakes can happen.  If you have a problem, please talk to us and let us know what is wrong.  Call us or call in (by appointment).  Alternatively, use the ‘contact’form on the Contact page to let us know.
